I read that Instagram for Android hits 1 million downloads in less than 24 hours!
For any of you android users out there who downloaded Instagram, pleaseeeee tell us what you think about it! Tell us about your experience in the comments section!
I received the email announcing its arrival to Android yesterday and I tried it right away!
I’m happy with its smooth performance on my Samsung Galaxy S2 and there’s no bug discovered so far. It has a clean and easy-to-use interface and thus perfect for easy sharing. Of course for users who have never laid their hands on an iPhone might need a couple of minutes learning the way as the navigation is of Apple-style. I’ve seen Android users complaining about this but honestly it doesn’t really bother me =p
As for the uploading… the app comes with a camera but I haven’t tried it out because I’m very satisfied with my own camera. It also comes with some really nice filters. Personally I don’t usually use the filters provided in sharing apps as I think if everyone uses the same set of filters it’d kill the creativity.. the exception is when it does significantly enhances my pics =)
As you probably have known, all the pics must be cropped into a square shape when uploaded. It’s taking me a while to get used to it because I find it difficult to decide which part of my pic is to be “sacrificed” when cropping =p
The only real downside is that it seems to drain quite some battery on my S2 (as do many other apps of course). I’ll observe this for a longer time before I could come to a conclusion
Overall, it’s a good new ground to explore. And the main reason of me feeling excited about Instagram on Android is that I really hope it will boost the growth of Android Photography. It was a major factor which pushed iPhonography to success… I hope it’ll contribute as well to Android =D
p/s my username on Instagram is Charlotte90T, in case you’ll like to check it out =D
